In my project I try to show my own time through a series of family portraits, through the faces of women from various generations, concentrating on such subject as genetic memory. This is an attempt to examine the nature of time and its effect on people. Tracing similarities and differences, mutual relations, the details of the period – like a vast domestic family archive that people may scrutinise. Photography is like a time machine that allows us to travel to the past and wander through the labyrinths of memory. The greater the distance, the further the event, the easier it becomes to generalise and perceive them in their entirety.
